How to play Cast
A two-beat timing game. First a marker sweeps along a power meter and you tap to cast — land inside the green band and you drop your float in the honey hole, where the fish are. Then you watch the float. It will twitch with small fake nibbles, and at some point it will plunge properly under. Tap on the plunge to set the hook; tap on a nibble and you spook the fish. The hook window narrows as the run goes on, and reacting inside the first fraction of it counts as a perfect. You get three lives.
Controls
- Tap or click once to cast on the power meter
- Tap again to set the hook when the float goes under
- Space, Enter or the Up arrow do both on a keyboard
- Tap the speaker icon to mute
Tips
- The green band on the meter is the honey hole. It is worth waiting a full sweep for it rather than settling for a poor cast.
- Nibbles are small and quick; a real strike pulls the float properly under. Wait for the commitment.
- A fast reaction inside the strike window scores a perfect, so once you see the plunge, do not second-guess it.
- The hook window shrinks from about two-thirds of a second down to a third, so late runs demand real reaction speed.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Cast free to play?
- Yes, it runs in the browser with no download or sign-up.
- What is the green band on the meter?
- It marks the honey hole — the stretch of water where fish are most likely. Casting into it gives you the best chance of a strike.
- How do I tell a nibble from a real bite?
- Nibbles are small twitches. A real strike pulls the float fully under, and that is the only moment worth striking at.
