How to play Sneak Street
A third-person 3D stealth game set in a daytime city plaza. You walk among fourteen pedestrians, approach one from behind and hold GRAB to lift their wallet or phone. Vision cones are drawn on the ground — yellow for pedestrians, blue for the patrolling police, and red the moment that person can actually see you. Everybody glances over their shoulder at random, and a swelling question mark warns you just under a second before the head turns. Stealing raises a suspicion meter that makes people look around more often, widens witness range and speeds up the cops. The run ends only when a cop actually catches you.
Controls
- Drag anywhere for a camera-relative virtual joystick — a small deflection walks slowly and quietly
- Hold the GRAB button at the bottom-right when it glows green to steal
- Keyboard: WASD or arrow keys to move, hold E or Space to grab, hold Shift to sneak
- Tap the speaker icon to mute
Tips
- Approach slowly. Rushing someone’s back arc makes them glance roughly three times sooner; sneaking barely disturbs them at all.
- Strike right after a glance. You have the longest safe window immediately after a head turn finishes.
- Watch every cone, not just your target’s. Any witness who can see you during a grab busts the attempt.
- You can keep walking while the grab ring fills, so trailing a moving mark works — just do not drift too far.
- Cops give up a chase after about seven seconds, so a distant one can be outrun by weaving around the fountain and benches.
Frequently asked questions
- Is Sneak Street free to play?
- Yes, it runs in your browser with no download or sign-up.
- Does it need WebGL?
- No. The 3D is rendered by a small software renderer on a normal 2D canvas, so it runs anywhere a modern browser does.
- What ends a run?
- Only a cop physically catching you. Being spotted raises suspicion and costs you the steal, but the run continues.
- What do the coloured cones on the ground mean?
- Yellow is a pedestrian’s field of view, blue is a police officer’s, and either turns red while that person can currently see you.
