How to play Sortie
A third-person fighter-jet game over a procedurally generated mountain valley. Waves of enemy jets and tank convoys keep coming until you are shot down. Enemy jets are worth 100 points and tanks 150, because bombing a ground target is the harder shot. You start with 100 health: enemy tracers and flak bursts chip away at it, straying outside the valley bounds bleeds health steadily, and flying into the terrain kills you outright. The flight model is arcade — yaw and pitch chase your input at a clamped rate and the roll is just bank-into-the-turn dressing.
Controls
- Touch: drag the left half of the screen as a virtual stick, hold FIRE and tap BOMB on the right
- Mouse: point where you want to go, hold the left button to fire the gun, right-click to drop a bomb
- Keyboard: arrows or WASD to steer, Space to fire, B or Shift to bomb, W and S for throttle
Tips
- Keep your speed up in turns. Yaw and pitch are rate-limited, so a slow, flat turn wastes a lot of sky.
- Bomb runs need a shallow dive and an early release. Tanks are worth more precisely because they are harder to hit.
- Watch the valley edges — flying out of bounds costs 12 health per second and it adds up fast.
- The terrain is instant death, so pull up early when you are chasing a low enemy through the valley.
