How to play Spire

A neon beam slides back and forth above your tower. Tap to drop it, and whatever hangs over the edge is sliced away, so the next beam is narrower. Miss the stack completely and the run ends. The twist is the SYNC multiplier: land a beam within a whisker of dead centre and it snaps back to full width instead of shrinking, while your multiplier climbs from ×2 all the way to ×8. Every point you score is multiplied by it, and a single sloppy drop resets the chain to ×1. The beam speeds up as the tower climbs, so hesitating costs you as much as rushing.

Frequently asked questions

Is Spire free to play?
Yes. Spire runs entirely in your browser, with no download, no install and no sign-up.
What is the SYNC multiplier?
Landing a beam within a small tolerance of dead centre counts as a perfect. The beam keeps its full width and the SYNC multiplier rises one step, up to ×8. Any non-perfect drop resets it to ×1.
Does Spire work on a phone?
Yes. Spire is built portrait-first for touch, and it also plays with a mouse or keyboard on desktop.
Is my high score saved?
Your best score is stored locally in your own browser, so it survives a reload but is not shared between devices.
